Rasmussen College students aren’t particularly impressed with the school and claim they were cheated out of their money due to the school’s misrepresentation of its programs, their costs, and their usefulness. Students checking out the school were told a Rasmussen education would lead them to high paying jobs and would adequately prepare them to work in their chosen fields. this turned out to be a load of garbage and students were neither adequately prepared nor adequately educated to pass state licensing examinations. Clinical components of the program are said to have been lacking in useful information and professionalism and completely irrelevant for use in the workplace.

Grim prospects and huge loans are what Rasmussen College students have been left with after the fantastical fees the school charged in comparison with non-profit educational counterparts. Federal student loan and grant moneys intended for use as living expenses were kept by the school when they should have been given to the students to cover costs. When students approached the school about their living expense money, they were told the school made an error and that they would resolve it as quickly as possible but they usually never saw a dime of I in the end.

Clinical training was advertised as being high quality and adequate for preparation working hands-on in a hospital-related field but this turned out to be another misrepresentation by the school. The majority of assignments in courses turned out to be term papers in APA format and barely any clinical hands-on practice was ever received.

Students found out they were in debt for the maximum borrowing amount under many federally financed programs and had exceeded their caps. They were over $50,000 in debt by the end of their studies in addition to monthly payments to the school. When account statements were received they lacked any breakdown of costs within the overall amount and students were denied knowing what they had been charged for. Through this and humongous interest and unexplained fees, students often found they had outstanding account balances or that they owed far more than they had ever realized.

Course instructors just didn’t want to teach as far as Rasmussen students were concerned and any requests for clarification on lessons were responded to disrespectfully and rudely. The majority of instructors at the school took their instruction positions seriously and ensured that the class participants actually knew what they were talking about. When students complained about this to the dean they were ignored and the dean refused to correspond or communicate with students or address any of their complaints or concerns.

The school decided to hold an evening and weekend class to benefit their working students who wanted to pursue their education. Students were told their work schedule worked with the program and were given their class schedule. Upon arrival, this, too, turned out to be further misrepresentation of Rasmussen programs as the students soon discovered every student in the class had been different time frames for the classes. The instructors, however, quickly stated the actual program schedule and students were left in a mess. Those contacting the dean about the conflicting schedules and promises that the classes were outside of their times of employment were told that it was not the school’s responsibility to worry about student employment. Their only response regarding the conflicting scheduling information was that they refused to discuss the school’s hours of operation with students.
